Catching Up

Crying Baby by AddroxHow do I describe my perfect day?

8 hours of sleep + peaceful breakfast + Phoebe begging to be seated in her highchair + Phoebe insisting to eat up everything I give her + already cooked meals + play day without any bruises and tantrums + husband coming home early from work insisting to take care of Phoebe while I read my book.

Yes, life can’t get any better.

But last Wednesday was not one of those days. I only had 4 hours of sleep, Phoebe flipped her bowl of cereal on herself after I dressed her up for her music class, our car door closed on my left knee, Phoebe bumped her head on the lower corner of the car door, I missed the exit to the nearest McDonald’s (where I wanted to ask for some ice cubes for Phoebe’s forehead), no food at home and Phoebe tore 3 pages off the book I’ve been trying to read.

Then came the redemption. I got a Facebook message from an old friend telling me that she nominated my blog for the “Swiffer Cleanest Blog Category”. I checked out the link (Socialluxe Lounge site) she sent me, read the award rules, skimmed through my rival blogs and started doing the math – how am I supposed to win against those who already have hundreds of votes when the voting closes on July 6? My pessimist self interfered – there’s just no way I can catch up and voting once a day might be too much for my readers. But the fact that someone took the time to enter my blog into the competition is flattering. Rewarding. I invest a lot of time and effort into my blog. If someone thinks it deserves to win, it might be worth a try.

Vote for my blog if you think it should get the award. Click on the badge below, look for Rise Fall Never Quit in the Cleanest Blog Category then click on Vote.

2009 BlogLuxe Awards

You may vote once a day.  There’s no monetary award involved – just a bit of exposure in the blogosphere. Win or lose, the nomination was a definite mood-booster amidst all the mishaps that happened that day.

When Phoebe woke up from her mid-day nap, instead of the usual screams for “Mommy!”, she gave me one big smile when I entered the room. That made my day even better.
